Zoodles—what are they? Zucchini noodles, or as we know them, spiralized veggies!
Veggie spirals are all the rage as a substitute to gluten and carb-filled pasta, and why not? It’s a healthy, fun alternative and since they aren’t as heavy as regular pasta, you can eat even more. And when your taste-tester was an Italian grandma (nonna) who approved, you know they’re good!
Though we used zucchini noodles here, there are so many options to choose from—spiralized squash and sweet potato, for example. And since these noodles are veggies, the possibilities are endless; cook them as you would for pasta, or eat them raw in a beautiful and creative salad!
Below is a great summer pasta recipe from one of everyone’s favourites, Angela Liddon of Oh She Glows.
HINT: To save on time and get to eating, instead of “spiralizing” yourself, nowadays it’s possible and easy to buy them pre-spiraled, as seen pictured below. Many of our independent retail customers spiral fresh vegetables from our market or sell our wholesalers’ brands: Harvest Fresh and Freshline . Whichever you choose, experiment and enjoy!
