Garden Gangsters

Customer Spotlight

Walking into Garden Gangsters is a treat before you even get to try what they have to offer. The rich colours of the freshly pressed juices and finely chopped produce against the deep green and gold of the decor give a feeling of elegance and opulence. Not something you’d expect from a healthy food-to-go outlet. The effect is made all the more exceptional by the warm hospitality of the staff, creating a unique experience that speaks to Garden Gangsters’ core values. A look at Garden Gangsters’ website will tell you everything you need to know – references are made to being kind and caring to yourself and  the planet.

There is no doubt, this business is making a healthy lifestyle cool again. Started by Ian Paech, this kind and intrepid soul had no experience in food service when he decided to quit trading at one of the big banks to apprentice at Pizzeria Libretto, in Toronto. He learned what was needed in order to succeed in the restaurant business at the bustling pizza place.

For Paech, quality trumps everything, “all our ingredients are natural, nutrient-rich and fresh-never-frozen. Everything is made in-house, including our dressings,” he adds proudly. “Choose any offering at Garden Gangsters and face one less decision in your day.” Because everything is nutritious and substitutions are happily made whenever possible to meet your dietary needs, you feel good when you order.

“Of the countless obstacles to overcome every day, healthy eating shouldn’t be one of them.”

With its two locations in Toronto (near St Lawrence Market and in Liberty Village), Garden Gangsters offers an array of healthy, delicious food and juices for the everyday person. Ian did not decide on opening this business in order to capitalize on the health movement. In fact, he’s quick to point out you don’t need to be a gym rat or vegan to enjoy his food. Garden Gangsters appeals to anyone who wants tasty, good-for-you fare. His thinking? Eat well and you’ll be happier!
